Where have I been lately and why am I not on DA?
Personally I have a lot of things that I need to take care. Such as finding a new job since I quit the previous job I had working as a programmer for a small business. Does that mean that I quit my job based on my field of study? The answer is no. Reason why I quit was that the boss's wife is a fuckin bitch because she spread bullshit that I am not doing my job and being a lazy ass. I don't know where that came from because at work I was doing what I suppose to do and if I need help I ask my co-worker. Thank god I was not fired. After I quit, I decided to go back to my old job at the computer lab at the same time working temporary at the place where I intern at. My goal right now is to find a job before mid-September to October and maintain it.
Anyway the good news is I attended Too Many Games and FINALLY attended EVO this year. First of all Too Many Games had awesome guests this year like Keith Apicary, Doug Walker, and Pat "The NES Punk" Contri as well as Descendants of Erdrick. Too Many Games will probably replace Otakon as my summer convention since it is on the weekend of my future niece-in-law's birthday.
EVO has been on the top of the list of must attend conventions/events. Despite the Las Vegas Heat, it was one of the best conventions I ever attended. The first two days are at the Las Vegas Convention Center while the finals are at the Mandalay Bay Events Center. The only downfall was that you have to buy a separate ticket for the Finals since it's not included as part of the convention. Overall attending EVO in person is different than watching the tournaments online. I had watched Guilty Gear XRD Revelator and Smash Bros. Qualifiers. Also I finally got my hands on the King of Fighters XIV. Unlike the demo, I get to try 48 characters but I played as Kensou, Xanadu, and Mai. Overall it has everything I want in a fighting game and been waiting for this game after XIII was out. I only attended one tournament and that is Yatagarasu Attack on Cataclysm, which is a free tournament. I wanted to attend the KoF XIV tournament but most of the signups were online. Plus I attend as a spectator rather than a player. Attending the finals in person was the best part of EVO especially the Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Guilty Gear XRD: Revelator, Smash Bros. Melee and of course Street Fighter V.
With EVO and Too Many Games finished, what's next for me convention wise. I will be at Otakon next Friday and Saturday then after that maybe 10 Hit Combo which will probably be the last convention. I will be cutting down on conventions next year since I have other things to take care of such as getting a job and of course saving up for my wedding.
I also have been podcasting as well but lately my plans for future podcasts are falling through since real life is kicking my ass. Hopefully there will be one this month.
